PUPS commitee have, in principle, accepted a verbal offer of accommodation within the new Largs schools campus from March 2018. This will mean that PUPS will continue to operate before and after-school care. There are no other details at present, however, we will keep you informed of further developments.

Dear Parents, it is hard to believe that the summer holidays are now upon us!

Invoices: All bills must be paid up to date by today – Wednesday 28th June 2017. Places will not be given next year if accounts are not up to date by today. If this presents a problem then please contact me asap.

Registration Packs: Please ensure that you have returned your registration forms by today. The annual registration fee will be added to the September invoice.

Summer Holidays at PUPS: We are only able to open on the first 3 weeks of July 2017 each day except Friday. If you have indicated on the recent form that you requested these dates, then your place has been allocated to you. If you have not booked a place but wish to use PUPS, then please contact me as there are places available.

New School Opening Hours: When schools re-open on Thursday 17th August 2017, the starting time will be 8.45am and finishing time will be 2.45pm each day. PUPS will accomodate these times. 

Breakfast Club Charges: It has been decided that the breakfast club charges will be £5 per morning from August 2017. After-school charges will remain as they are at present until the PUPS Annual General Meeting in 2018, when they will be reviewed.

The summer holiday form is for all day care required during the school summer months. Last year we were unable to open every day during the summer, due to insufficient numbers. This is partly because leisure clubs can afford to offer a facility at a much reduced rate as they do not have to adhere to the regulations that affect us. However, it is important to remember that PUPS club provides care for your children all year round and if we continue to be one of the very few Out of School care providers left in North Ayrshire, we really need your support to survive. I would ask that if you do need childcare during the holidays that you use us as much as possible. 

It is important that forms are returned by the cut off date of 2nd June 2017 in order to make a decision as soon as possible as to when we will be open. Late return of forms could jeapordise the operation of the club during the holidays. 

We hope to provide some full day trips as we have successfully done in previous summers.

As you know, we make good use of the Kelburn Primary playground and Scott Park when the weather is good. Please ensure that your child/children carry suncream and a sun hat in their bag at all times. They should also carry a rain jacket due to the unpredictability of our weather!

A number of parents have been asking questions relating to the future of PUPS club once the new school campus is in operation. 

PUPS Committee is presently working with representatives of North Ayrshire Council to examine the possibility of suitable/affordable accommodation being available to PUPS at the new campus. As soon as we have any further information regarding the likelihood of this happening, we will let you know.

The 2017 PUPS Committee Annual General Meeting will be held at Largs Community Centre, Flatt Road on Tuesday 7th March at 7pm. All welcome to attend.
